1. Major Maxwell Mahama

In May 2017, the death of Major Maxwell Mahama, an officer of the Ghana army, shook the nation.

The brutal circumstances that led to his death scarred the conscience of the nation and sparked a campaign against mob violence.

The fact that he was a 32-year-old man with a young wife and two children made his death more difficult to take.

.2. Komla Dumor

The late Komla Dumor

Komla Dumor was a BBC broadcaster who was widely known and revered across Africa and the world.

The former Joy FM morning show host died of cardiac arrest in London on January 18, 2014. He was 41.

His unexpected death was deemed a national disaster.

3. Theophilus Tagoe (Castro )The late Castro

Castro is a popular hiplife musician who went missing at Ada in July 2014.

Castro was on a weekend trip with Asamoah Gyan and friends when he went missing with a female friend, Janet Bandu, while cruising on a jet ski on the Volta River.

The disappearance of the “Toffee” and “Boneshaker” hitmaker has been met with deep sorrow and pain by many Ghanaians.

It is important to state that Castro has not been declared dead by the authorities.

4. Terry Adjetey Bonchaka

Terry Bonchaka was rising hiplife star who died in accident while heading home after a musical performance at the University of Ghana in 2003.

The death of the 21-year-old former Adisadel College student marked a sad moment in the history of the nation.

5. Suzzy Williams

The late Suzzy Williams

Suzzy Williams was a star actress who died in an accident in September 2008. She was 23.

6. Fennec OkyereThe late Fennec Okyere

Fennec Okyere was a music producer, who managed Kwaw Kesse and other talented musicians.

He was shot dead in his home in March 2014.

7. Kwame Owusu Ansah

The late Kwame Owusu Ansah

He was a popular actor who died after he was involved in an accident on the Accra-Tema Motorway in 2008.

The actor was taken to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment, but succumbed to his injuries.

8. Christopher Opoku

The popular journalist and football commentator died in May 2017 after a fierce battle with cancer. He was 42.

His death was painful for many Ghanaians because he initially beat the cancer and shared a testimony with the nation to that effect. However, the disease resurfaced a few years later and ended his life.

9. Vibrant Faya

The budding dancehall artiste died at the 37 Military Hospital after being involved in an accident on The Accra-Tema Motorway.

His death plunged the showbiz community into a state of pain and sorrow.

10. Kofi Ofori Attah

Kofi, a marketer with Accra-based Citi FM died in 2015, after three months of marriage to his wife.

His death became national news after leaked audio tapes suggested that his wife was having affairs with other men for money.

11. Kwadwo Asare-Baffour Acheampong (KABA)

The popular broadcaster with Asempa FM died on Saturday, November 18, 2017. He was reportedly rushed to the hospital after falling unconscious. It is not immediately clear what led to his death, but he was believed to be diabetic. He was 37.
