President Akufo-Addo has sent his condolences to the widow, children and family of former Black Stars player Christian Atsu.
Christian Atsu was confirmed dead this morning following the massive earthquake which struck Turkey two weeks ago.

On behalf of the Government and people of Ghana, I extend sincere, heartfelt condolences to the widow, children and family of our fellow Ghanaian, Christian Atsu, on the sad news of his death. Ghana football has lost one of its finest personnel and ambassadors, one who will be difficult to replace. He will be sorely missed.
May his soul rest in the Bosom of the Almighty until the Last Day of the Resurrection when we shall all meet again. Amen!,” he said.
The 31-year-old was trapped under rubble just hours after scoring a stunning goal in Turkey for Hatayspor, his 10th senior team.
He scored a last-minute winner for current club Hatayspor in their home game against Turkish Super Lig rivals Kasimpasa on Sunday, February 5 – just hours before the devastating event unfolded.
Atsu joined the Turkish side last September and was in the city of Antakya when the earthquake struck earlier this month. The winger also represented the likes of Porto, Everton, Bournemouth and Malaga during his career, as well as playing international football for Ghana.
